Me
Hi, my name is Layla.
This website was created as part of a project for my Web Communications class at Curtin University in Perth, Australia. I am currently in my 4th year studying Marketing and Social & Digital Media, which I love! The aim of the project was to create and curate an online identity to display across a webpage and three social media accounts. For myself, I have created the identity of "Layla the Fashion Blogger," as I have similarly done for other class projects in the past. I may not have every on-trend item in my closet, but the influence that fashion has had on me as an individual in recent years has helped me explore my style and express my love for creativity through a new outlet.
Working as the textiles department manager at JD Sports has been a large impact on how I view and interpret fashion in the world today. Working closely with brands such as Nike, Adidas and The North Face has provided an insight into consumer behaviour with brands, complimenting my degree. Despite JD having clothes that are different to my personal style, JD has grown my interest and new-found love for sneakers and trending clothing.
My personal style is a mix between business-casual and on-trend street fashion. For business wear, I love anything with a nice big coat paired together with statement jewellery and black loafers. However when I'm spending a day out in the city, I love to wear my cargo pants with a plain crop top and a statement jacket, paired together with sneakers.
